Hi, I am your League Operator, Gregg Taylor.
I would like to welcome you to the new Chicago Central APA.

Chicago Central APA
Some great instructors have signed on for “Pool School”, If you are interested contact the LO. Slots will be limited. “Pool School” will offer a variety of clinics with different instructors. Students can chose who they want to work with and what they want to work on. Each clinic will be priced individually and also, there will be a small fee for the stroke and break video analysis. Participants can decide who they might like to work with. The goal is to give players a chance to really improve his/her game in 2010.
Headed to Vegas!!!
Big Winners:
Chicago Central APA had a very successful Regional with its players winning trips to Las Vegas!! Not pictured but gaining a big V was Mo Ghouse by winning the 8-Ball competition. Picture #1 is Frank Citarelli who also won in 8-Ball. Picture #2 is Gino Ong who will be representing in both 8-Ball and 9-Ball. Rob Stensby is pictured in #3 and will be returning to Vegas ready to win even bigger.
All of these players took advantage of the Singles Boards Program. In the APA, everyone can play and anyone can win a trip to Vegas!!!
Notes for the Week
Hello all. If you see $$$$ next to your name, means you owe 25.00 for you’remembership dues. I have searched and checked with other LO’s to see if you are paid in another area and marked those accordingly. If you still think you paid elsewhere, write it on the score sheets.
Please pay this when you play, it is ok to write a check for this or leave me a note on when this will be taken care of. If this is not addressed your match will not be scored for you’re team. This needs to be addressed. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Time Between Matches
There seems to be an issue about a waiting time between matches, I wish to clarify this; There IS NO WAITING TIME BETWEEN matches. Once play starts, it’s to be continuous. If the 2 teams want to agree to wait for a player, this is ok, but it takes both teams to agree to this. See rule below from the BYLAWS.
Official League Start Time - If at least one player is present at 7:15, play begins. Forfeit match #1 at 7:31 PM if no player is present. Forfeit match #2 at 7:46 PM if no one is available to play. Forfeit match #3, #4 and #5 at 8:00 PM. See Official Team Manual pgs 20-21 regarding Continuous Play. Note: Any divisions with different start times will follow the same guidelines for forfeit times.
Quali-fiver Boards
I am now taking reservations for the Quali-fiver singles board. This is $35.00 and is a true double elimination board. Limited to 16 players, must be pre-paid, no refunds.I will be running this on Saturday March 27th at 12pm. This is the best and easiest way to get your shot at a Regional. 5 Players from this board will be qualified. WOW!
This is Limited to 5’s and under. See website for more details.
I will be adding the Dates to Remember page to the website for all upcoming events, like the Citywide, Vegas dates and other cool info. I am open to suggestions to improve the website, feel free to drop me an email with some suggestions.
Remember, the website is a tool for all the players to use! Add something/remove.
Thanks Again,
Gregg

Join the APA!
While some membership cards require you to be able to jump the cue ball, bank it off three rails and sink the 8-Ball blindfolded, getting an APA Membership Card is much easier. Having fun, meeting new people and playing pool is what the APA is all about.. You don't have to be a pool shark, because in the APA -- everyone can play and anyone can win. The APA wants beginners and novices, because it is the AMATEUR Poolplayers Association. No other organization in pool gives ordinary players a chance to win a share of nearly $1.5 MILLION guaranteed cash and prizes paid out through its national tournaments. How does the APA do it? It uses The Equalizer® handicap system to determine the amount of games a player has to win in order to capture the match. It allows a novice to win less games than a more-skilled opponent to win a match.
